The Aircraft Servicer position at Amentum is a vital role that involves servicing aircraft to ensure their readiness and safety for operations. This position includes directing incoming and outgoing aircraft near terminal or flight line parking areas, assisting pilots in maneuvering aircraft on the ground using hand or light signals, and operating light trucks with guiding signs. The Aircraft Servicer will secure aircraft in parking positions with wheel chocks and install landing gear and safing pins as needed. This role requires hands-on operation of a variety of ground support equipment and service vehicles designed to replenish essential aircraft consumables such as water and waste system chemicals. Additionally, the Aircraft Servicer assists with refueling and defueling operations, tows aircraft, operates electrical power carts, engine starting carts, and other specialized equipment pivotal to aircraft servicing and maintenance.
Key responsibilities also include examining aircraft tires for specified air pressure and condition, positioning boarding platforms for passenger loading and unloading, de-icing aircraft wings and assemblies at select locations, extracting engine oil samples for non-destructive inspection analysis, and coordinating with air traffic control via land mobile radio for aircraft movement guidance. This role collaborates closely with maintenance and supply teams to order necessary parts and returns recoverable equipment, such as drag chutes, to maintenance units. The Aircraft Servicer must maintain strong communication skills, safety awareness, and comply with security regulations in diverse and sometimes harsh environments. - US citizenship required to obtain clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License within 24 months after employment start date
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures
