This position is hiring for an advanced Cook level on a Permanent Intermittent basis, with work hours varying up to 40 hours a week. As a lead worker, the person in this role oversees the work of less skilled kitchen helpers during their assigned shift. The cook is responsible for preparing meal items which encompasses preparation, service, and cleanup activities. Maintaining health department standards for cleanliness and safety is a key part of this role. Additionally, the cook also receives and stores kitchen stock supplies. This position provides an opportunity to apply culinary skills within a structured, safety-focused environment, supporting the needs of the Michigan State Police and contributing to the well-being of personnel who serve the community. Work duties also include other tasks as assigned by supervisors. The position requires adherence to strict health, safety, and security measures, including passing a background check, drug screening, and fingerprinting process prior to employment.                 - High school diploma or equivalent
 - Two years of experience in quantity cooking and food preparation
 - One year of experience equivalent to Cook E6
 - Ability to pass pre-employment screening including drug screen, criminal history background, and fingerprint check
