Known for their ethical and supportive workplace culture, Rocket Farm Restaurants operates with the core philosophy that "We serve the person who is serving the guest." This guiding principle fosters a respectful, dignified, and caring environment among kitchen staff and front-of-house team members alike, ensuring a harmonious and efficient service atmosphere. Their commitment to employee well-being and career growth is reflected through dynamic performance-based raises, mentorship programs, and a culture of mutual respect and care.
One of the standout establishments within the Rocket Farm family is La Lucha, a high-energy, vibrant restaurant offering a unique and indulgent menu inspired by chef Ford Fry's nostalgic memories of over-the-top dining experiences. La Lucha stands out as a funky and exciting alternative to its sister restaurant Superica, delivering a culinary journey rich with bold flavors and playful presentation.
Currently, La Lucha is seeking an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef to join their passionate kitchen team. The Sous Chef will play a pivotal role in managing the hourly, back-of-house staff and overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations encompassing production, food preparation, special events, stewarding, purchasing, and receiving. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of various cooking methods and preparation techniques to ensure all dishes meet high standards of quality, presentation, and timeliness.
Beyond culinary skills, the ideal candidate will embody strong leadership qualities, able to maintain cohesion within the team while effectively delegating tasks and maintaining composure under pressure. The Sous Chef must be a professional who can seamlessly step in and lead the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations at all times.
This position requires at least three years of progressive culinary experience, including one year in a supervisory role such as Lead Cook or Sous Chef. It is an excellent opportunity for a natural leader looking to be part of a vibrant, innovative, and heartfelt team that values individual uniqueness and collective success.
Offering a competitive annual salary range of $55,000 to $70,000, depending on experience, this role also includes a generous quarterly bonus program. Benefits become fully available after 30 days of employment and include major medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage. Commitment to work-life balance is demonstrated through paid time off, childbirth recovery leave, parental leave, and time off on major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
Employees also enjoy a supportive culture with ethical work environment standards, access to Rocket Farm University which offers specialized leadership classes and career advancement support, employee-led mentorship programs, advisory councils, and safety committees. Additionally, staff receive significant long-term retention bonuses and a 50% discount at all Rocket Farm Restaurants locations, enhancing both job satisfaction and community engagement.
Joining Rocket Farm Restaurants and La Lucha means becoming part of a vibrant, caring, and progressive culinary family that values leadership, innovation, and genuine care for both its employees and guests.
