The Kitchen Manager role at Jalapentilde;o Tree is critical to upholding the restaurant's standards and guest satisfaction. This position involves managing all back-of-house operations, including food quality, cleanliness, team development, and ensuring seamless execution of culinary offerings. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for scheduling, ordering food and supplies, inventory control, and cost of goods management, all while coaching and training kitchen staff. The role demands strong leadership to maintain a clean, compliant, and productive kitchen environment, ensuring shifts run smoothly using restaurant systems and tools. Additionally, the Kitchen Manager is instrumental in supporting the restaurant’s profitability goals by adhering to health and safety standards and effectively managing labor and food costs. The role requires availability for 50-55 hours weekly, including holidays and weekends, reflecting its integral part in the restaurant’s success.                 - Minimum 2 years of experience as a kitchen manager or successful assistant manager in a full-service restaurant
 - high school diploma or GED preferred
 - must be at least 18 years old
 - valid driver's license
 - knowledge of food and beverage laws and health regulations
 - strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
 - proven ability to manage inventory, food safety, and BOH labor schedules
 - proficiency in POS and restaurant systems such as Aloha, Microsoft Office, Compeat
 - detail-oriented with strong time management and cost control awareness
 - ability to train and develop a high-performing BOH team
 - committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and respectful workplace
 - able to stand for prolonged periods, move quickly, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
 - frequent exposure to hot and cold environments
 - frequent handwashing and repetitive motions
 - ability to read, write, and operate computer and phone systems
 - must be available for 50-55 hours per week including holidays and weekends
 - oversee BOH hiring, terminations, and payroll-related changes
 - assist with employee discipline and development
 - implement new menus, recipes, and promotions
