Posted on October 24, 2025
The Kalispel Tribe of Indians is a distinguished and respected Native American tribe recognized for its rich cultural heritage and commitment to community development and economic progress. As an equal opportunity employer, the Kalispel Tribe embraces diversity and inclusion in its workforce while adhering to a policy of Indian preference in employment consistent with federal law. The Tribe prioritizes hiring qualified Kalispel Tribal Members first, followed by spouses of enrolled members, enrolled members of other Indian tribes, and then all other applicants. This equitable hiring policy reflects the Tribe's dedication to sustaining its community and supporting tribal sovereignty through economic initiatives and employment opportunities.
The Kalispel Tribe operates Kalispel Hospitality, a service-oriented division that upholds the Tribe's core values and mission to provide exceptional customer experiences. Kalispel Hospitality is grounded in three main beliefs: making people feel special, taking pride in everything they do, and choosing excellence every day. This approach ensures that guests and patrons receive warm, respectful, and attentive service, fostering a welcoming environment that honors the Tribe's culture and traditions.
Currently, Kalispel Hospitality is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic servers to join their team at the Kalispel Golf & Country Club (KGCC). This role involves serving patrons in the restaurant dining room while embodying Kalispel hospitality values and adhering to all relevant regulations and internal policies. The position is designed for individuals who take pride in delivering outstanding guest service, who are attentive, flexible, and committed to teamwork. Employment with the Kalispel Tribe is at-will, and all candidates undergo thorough background checks and drug testing to maintain a safe and professional workplace.
The Server role involves greeting guests with a warm smile and friendly attitude, explaining daily specials in detail, and offering recommendations on appealing menu items. Servers take beverage orders and deliver them promptly while guests are reviewing their menus, followed by taking food orders in the correct sequence and gender protocol by serving women first. Managing the presentation of guest checks, collecting payments accurately, and providing change when necessary are crucial responsibilities that require careful attention to detail and a strong sense of integrity.
Aside from order taking and service, the ideal candidate must be knowledgeable about wine and capable of suggesting suitable wine pairings. Servers work closely with supervisors to promptly address any guest concerns, maintain neat and orderly payment handling, and ensure the continuous sale and refill of beverages, including alcoholic drinks where applicable. Maintaining assigned sections and server stations in a clean, organized, and well-stocked state is paramount for smooth operations.
In addition to direct guest interaction duties, servers contribute to the overall success of the team by assisting colleagues, completing side work responsibilities such as cleaning and stocking, and adhering to all established side work lists. Accurate completion of paperwork and record-keeping, including tips tracking, is required at the end of each shift. Participation in ongoing training and special projects helps to ensure that servers stay updated with policies and continue to deliver excellent service, furthering the Tribe's reputation for hospitality excellence.
Physical demands of the role include the ability to lift and carry up to 65 pounds, spend extended periods standing and walking, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements. The work environment includes exposure to the typical challenges found in a busy restaurant setting but is accommodated for individuals with disabilities where possible to enable equal participation.
Overall, working as a server at Kalispel Golf & Country Club offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dedicated team that not only serves excellent food and beverages but also embodies the values and culture of the Kalispel Tribe of Indians. The role is well suited for individuals who enjoy engaging with people, thrive in fast-paced environments, and seek an employer committed to community, culture, and customer satisfaction.
