The Director of Operations - Transitions/Task Force role at Highgate Hotels is a pivotal leadership position dedicated to driving hotel profitability through effective revenue generation, cost control, superior guest satisfaction, and employee development. This position focuses on maintaining the integrity of hotel operations while ensuring compliance with corporate standards and maintaining high performance levels across departments. The Director is responsible for overseeing front office operations including training and scheduling, conducting daily inspections and adjustments, and leading weekly staff meetings that focus on training and sales operations. Financial oversight is a key responsibility, including conducting monthly financial reviews with department heads, managing budget adherence, and overseeing the preparation of forecasts and reforecasts to accurately predict hotel financial performance. This role also includes mentoring management trainees and developing future managers through competency and corporate-sponsored training programs. In addition to operational oversight, the Director of Operations is tasked with conducting hiring processes, managing employee performance appraisals, and ensuring adherence to Highgate's standards of guest service and employee conduct. The role oversees compliance with all relevant health, safety, and liquor laws, and the implementation of loss prevention measures within Food and Beverage (F&B) departments. The Director also plays an active role in client relations and sales efforts by meeting with clients and assisting during property tours. Highgate expects this role to demonstrate strong leadership qualities in motivating and developing teams, maintaining physical property standards, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. Commitment to travel is required approximately 50% within the Eastern region for about one year.
