The role of Sr. Construction Project Safety Manager within GES is a critical leadership position focused on enhancing and overseeing Amazon's global contractor safety program. The individual will collaborate across multiple teams including Construction, Operations Engineering, Startup, and Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), as well as interact closely with procurement, legal teams, and construction execution leaders. This function involves managing the contractor pre-qualification process, ensuring the implementation and tracking of safety standards, safety metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for all North American GES projects. The Sr. Construction Project Safety Manager will be responsible for directing third-party safety audits and observers, establishing project management tools and expectations to promote compliance, and supporting training initiatives for project managers. This strategic role also requires the candidate to stay informed on evolving industry safety regulations and technologies, driving continuous improvement of safety standards and the contractor safety management program. The manager will serve as a point of contact for safety escalations, supporting legal and leadership teams by leveraging advanced safety risk tracking technologies. Responsibilities include preparing detailed reports and business updates for leadership, participating in site visits, and fostering effective relationships among developers, contractors, and subcontractors.
