The Door Attendant role at Mayo Clinic is a vital position designed to enhance the patient and guest experience from the moment they arrive. Primarily responsible for assisting patients and visitors to and from their cars, courtesy vans, shuttle buses, or taxis, the Door Attendant establishes and maintains a welcoming, supportive presence that reflects Mayo Clinic's commitment to compassionate care. This role requires individuals to offer mobility assistance, clear directions, and answer general questions, ensuring visitors feel valued and well-guided. Additional responsibilities include maintaining clear patient loading zones, transporting patients, personal belongings, and selected medical devices, as well as managing and monitoring taxi and courtesy vehicle logistics. Door Attendants assist and support valet operations and are tasked with sanitizing equipment used in patient support. Safety is a key priority, with duties encompassing traffic control in drive-up lanes and wheelchair recovery across multiple locations such as hospital floors, clinic floors, hotels, and other on- and off-campus facilities. This part-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20 to $25.92 and includes eligibility for comprehensive benefits. The role requires an adaptable, flexible individual capable of working varied shifts, including evenings, holidays, weekends, and rotating days off. The work schedule is designed to support the fluctuating needs of patients and visitors while maintaining a safe and caring atmosphere.
