Recognized annually as one of the best states for business in the United States, South Carolina is experiencing significant growth, with over 14,000 new jobs announced recently and more than $10 billion in capital investment. Entrepreneurial activity is thriving, particularly in cities such as Greenville, Charleston, Columbia, and Rock Hill, which have become hotspots for business start-ups and expansion. Furthermore, the state's hospitality sector is poised for remarkable growth, benefitting from the natural beauty and accessibility of South Carolina's mountains and coastlines, which continue to attract travelers from around the world. At DEW, the mission centers on connecting every jobseeker with meaningful employment opportunities, supporting businesses, and facilitating the workforce development that drives the state’s prosperity. Working at DEW means being part of an agency that values optimism, camaraderie, job security, affordable health care, excellent retirement benefits, and a healthy work-life balance.
The role of Production and Communications Specialist is a pivotal position within DEW’s Communications Division, contributing significantly to the agency's outreach and workforce initiatives. This role involves the development and management of communications projects that support various workforce divisions, including Employment Services, Workforce Development, and other workforce partners such as the OSWD and CCWD. The successful candidate will be based at the Robert E. David Building in Columbia and will serve as a critical liaison between the Communications Division and multiple divisions focused on workforce efforts. Duties include content creation, media updates, graphic design, and report development with a particular emphasis on video production and writing. This position demands strong project management skills to track multiple requests and initiatives, ensuring the timely delivery of informational materials. Collaboration with agency stakeholders and event planning are also significant components of the role, alongside maintaining adherence to deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
