Insomniac is a renowned event production company specializing in the creation and execution of some of the most innovative and immersive music festivals and live events worldwide. Established in 1993 by Pasquale Rotella and headquartered in Los Angeles, Insomniac has grown into a global leader in live entertainment, known for its cutting-edge use of lighting, pyrotechnics, sound design, large-scale art installations, theatrical performances, and next-generation special effects. The company produces approximately 10,000 concerts, club nights, and festivals each year, drawing around seven million attendees across 13 countries on five continents. Its flagship event, the Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, is recognized as the world's largest dance music festival, with over 525,000 attendees during its three-day run. Insomniac places a high priority on delivering an exceptional experience for fans, or 'Headliners,' ensuring every event immerses and captivates audiences through sensory-rich and interactive environments. The Production Coordinator for Procurement role at Insomniac is a pivotal position within the Procurement Department, tasked with supporting the management team in handling purchase requests and vendor relationships critical to the company’s event production success. This hybrid role combines remote work, office presence, and on-site event engagement, offering a dynamic environment for candidates passionate about live events and operations. The coordinator will be deeply involved in sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating with vendors, using requests for quotes (RFQs) to secure the best proposals and cost-effective solutions. They will coordinate the contracting process comprehensively, collaborating closely with legal and accounting teams to facilitate vendor agreements, payment processing, and compliance requirements such as insurance and service documentation. A strong emphasis is placed on analytical and organizational capabilities; candidates must excel in managing complex data, schedules, and cost analyses through advanced Excel and Google Suite skills. The role demands a proactive, adaptable self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative setting and can respond effectively to last-minute changes and challenges. Key responsibilities include maintaining open communication channels with internal stakeholders and vendors, auditing invoices and purchase orders, and ensuring all procurement activities align with event design specifications, budgets, and timelines. The Production Coordinator will also engage in special projects as needed and may occasionally travel to event locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a background in purchasing, vendor relations, and project management to join one of the world’s most innovative live entertainment companies, contributing to unforgettable festival experiences while developing their skills in a vibrant, high-energy industry. The position offers hourly pay estimated between $16.50 to $28.00 depending on experience, skills, and location variables.
