This full-time Barista position is based at 2000 West Sam Houston Parkway South in Houston, TX, with working hours scheduled Monday through Friday on a rotating basis. The position offers a competitive hourly pay range from $16.00 to $18.00 per hour and places a strong emphasis on prior catering cafe and customer service experience, with specific barista skills required. The role’s primary responsibility is to prepare and serve coffee and espresso drinks along with related food and beverage items while strictly adhering to high food safety and quality standards, such as those defined by HACCP guidelines. The Barista will serve as a vital touchpoint for customer interaction, ensuring each guest receives an exceptional experience marked by friendliness, courtesy, and efficiency. Key responsibilities include preparing espresso orders accurately using standard recipes, processing payments using POS devices, maintaining a clean and orderly service area, and replenishing supplies as needed. The position demands a high level of attention to portion control, presentation, and temperature maintenance to ensure food safety and customer satisfaction. Beyond food preparation, the Barista is expected to act as an advocate for sales, using effective communication techniques to assist customers in their purchase decisions, thus contributing to the business’s sales objectives. The role also involves maintaining equipment cleanliness, ensuring all food displays meet aesthetic standards, and adhering to proper sanitation practices before, during, and after shifts.
