The role available at Americold involves coordinating import, export, customs, and shipping activities within the department. This position plays a critical part in managing the smooth flow of goods through various regulatory and logistical processes. The successful candidate will engage in tracking containers via port systems, managing fumigation requirements with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), coordinating inspections with Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and acting as a key liaison with customs brokers to facilitate container deliveries and pick-ups.
This job requires handling detailed documentation such as bills of lading, fumigation logs, and cold treatment records to ensure compliance with government regulations and internal procedures. The position demands strong organization and communication skills to coordinate schedules, resolve discrepancies, and follow up to confirm that all shipping and customs activities have been successfully completed. The role also extends to maintaining detailed records for operations and billing purposes, supporting the accuracy and efficiency of the supply chain processes.
Americold seeks candidates with a solid background in warehouse and shipping operations, particularly those with import-export experience. The role demands familiarity with USDA regulations, automated customs reporting systems such as the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), and warehouse management systems like JDA and GLS. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and the ability to perform calculations and problem solving in fast-paced, evolving environments.
This position also involves occasional physical activities such as lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds and working in refrigerated environments when necessary.                 - Three years warehouse and/or shipping/receiving experience
 - High school diploma or GED
 - Ability to sit for long periods with frequent interruptions
