The Import/Export Agent - International role at Penske Logistics is vital to the smooth operation of freight forwarding activities. This position is designed for professionals experienced in the complexities of international freight forwarding, including the transportation of goods via shipping lines, airlines, road, and rail freight operators. The agent’s responsibilities include managing shipments from start to finish, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery that aligns with customer requirements and documentation standards. The role emphasizes monitoring operational activities such as order entry, load planning, and shipment tracking to guarantee excellent performance and customer satisfaction.
Working as an Import/Export Agent involves interacting regularly with overseas agents, handling shipment bookings, pricing negotiations, and documentation processes. The position also requires the ability to provide customer support, including first-level escalation and ad-hoc quotes, while assisting in new customer implementations. Collaboration with operations supervisors and adherence to company procedures and key performance indicators (KPIs) are crucial for ensuring shipments are executed flawlessly. Additionally, the agent will monitor shipment status for on-time delivery and be alert to any legislative or logistical factors affecting freight movement. This role also involves cost analysis to identify savings opportunities and drive continuous process improvements. 
This full-time, Monday through Friday position offers a competitive hourly salary ranging from $23 to $25 and operates during standard business hours of 8 am to 5 pm.                 - 2 years of experience in international logistics or international freight forwarding industry
 - Basic knowledge of domestic and international transportation regulations, policies and procedures
 - Bachelor’s degree preferred
 - Experience using Cargo wise TMS preferred
 - Strong attention to detail
 - Effective communications skills
 - Ability to manage shipment profit/loss
 - Skilled in problem solving and process improvement
 - Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations
 - Computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook
 - Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships
 - Regular, predictable, full attendance
 - Willingness to travel as necessary
 - Willingness to work the required schedule and location
 - Ability to complete employment application and submit to background check and drug screening
