The Front Desk Receptionist plays a critical role as the first point of contact for patients entering the ECPC Pain Clinic. This full-time, non-exempt position falls under the administrative department and reports directly to the Practice Manager. The receptionist’s primary responsibility is to establish a welcoming and professional atmosphere while managing multiple administrative tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Key duties include answering and directing incoming phone calls, checking patients in and out, verifying insurance coverage, and processing payments. Furthermore, the Front Desk Receptionist assists with appointment scheduling and follows up on missed visits to maintain patient engagement and clinic productivity. This role requires proficiency with electronic medical record systems, specifically eClinicalWorks EMR, to document patient information, secure authorizations for procedures, and manage referral correspondence. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for effectively collaborating with clinical staff, physicians, and patients, ensuring timely and accurate information flow. The ability to remain composed during stressful situations and maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations is mandatory.
