Known for its par-70, 7,244-yard layout, TPC Southwind is renowned as the home of the FedEx St. Jude Championship, a major event on the PGA TOUR. The Cook I position at TPC Southwind offers an excellent opportunity to join the TPC Network, a collection of premier golf clubs and golf-related properties across the country. This role is designed for individuals passionate about culinary arts and food service, providing a foundational experience in basic food preparation, portion control, sanitation, and kitchen equipment maintenance. As a Cook I, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team focused on delivering top-quality food production to ensure the satisfaction of members and guests. The position requires following established procedures strictly to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety throughout the kitchen, storage, and disposal areas.
Working in a professional kitchen environment at TPC Southwind, you will be responsible for a variety of cooking methods including breading, freezing, thawing, proofing, baking, as well as preparing meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, stocks, and soups according to standard recipes. The role demands proficiency in portion control, basic knife skills such as slicing, dicing, mincing, and chopping, and operation of kitchen machinery including slicers, mixers, and food processors. You will also participate in preparing banquet menus for events, ensuring that food production schedules meet the club's standards for timely service.
This role offers exposure to the operations of a high-caliber food and beverage department where accountability for food and beverage costs, sales, and profit goals is part of the daily routine. Adhering to PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc. guidelines and TPC Brand Standards is essential, emphasizing the commitment to excellence in both food quality and service. The position does not require direct supervisory responsibilities but plays a crucial role in supporting kitchen operations and maintaining a sanitary and efficient workspace in compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations. The work schedule may vary based on business needs, involving shifts as necessary, and the physical demands include regular standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and using fine motor skills.
