This position involves managing the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring seamless coordination, and leading a dedicated team of housekeeping professionals. The Housekeeping Manager acts as the operational lead in the absence of the Director of Housekeeping or Assistant Director, taking responsibility for all department functions and reporting on any issues that could affect department performance.
In this leadership role, the Housekeeping Manager will monitor staffing levels according to occupancy, ensuring efficient deployment of resources to avoid overstaffing or understaffing, thereby optimizing departmental productivity. The role also includes supervising work assignments, conducting daily room inspections, including those assigned to VIP, GH, Elite, and regular guests to guarantee that all cleaning and setup meet or exceed Four Seasons' stringent standards. The Housekeeping Manager directly engages with team members to provide immediate feedback and uphold grooming and uniform protocols in line with company policies.
Beyond operational oversight, this position requires undertaking spot checks of all areas under housekeeping care, addressing any deficiencies, and implementing corrective measures swiftly. Maintaining inventory control is another critical responsibility, with bi-weekly checks on guest supplies and storeroom stock, ensuring that purchase orders are raised timely to maintain stock at par levels. The Housekeeping Manager also plays a key role in team development by recommending and following through on disciplinary actions when necessary, promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.
This is a full-time, on-site role that demands flexibility, including working shifts during holidays, weekends, and varying hours. The offered annual salary ranges from $80,000 to $83,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package. - Minimum two years experience in housekeeping or equivalent position
- Good oral and written English communication skills
- Previous housekeeping or laundry experience in similar environment
- Previous New York experience preferred
