As a full-time Housekeeper on the evening shift at Texas Health Dallas, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for both patients and staff. This position requires the individual to work 40 hours a week, primarily during the evening hours from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, with a rotating schedule that includes working every weekend for the first 90 days, and rotating weekends thereafter. The Housekeeper will be an indispensable part of the Environmental Services team, contributing to the overall health outcomes by supporting infection control and hospital sanitation standards. The role is fast-paced and high-volume, providing a dynamic work environment where your efforts are directly linked to patient satisfaction and safety.
In this role, you will receive comprehensive mentorship, ongoing training, and leadership support to ensure you excel in your duties. Working independently while prioritizing tasks and adjusting to flexible assignments are key aspects of the job. The physical demands include working around housekeeping chemicals and lifting up to 50 pounds, which requires stamina and full range of motion. You will be responsible for cleaning patient rooms, public areas, and other assigned locations according to detailed procedures. Typical duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, linen collection, and sanitizing surfaces such as sinks, commodes, countertops, showers, and beds.
Additional responsibilities include replenishing supplies on housekeeping carts or in designated areas to prepare for subsequent service periods, maintaining the cleanliness of all housekeeping equipment, and promptly reporting any broken or malfunctioning equipment to supervisors. Beyond housekeeping tasks, you may be assigned other related duties as necessary to support the hospital’s mission and operational efficiency.
