The role of Housekeeper aboard American Cruise Lines' ships offers a unique opportunity to be part of a close-knit team dedicated to delivering outstanding hospitality to guests. This is a seasonal and temporary position for the 2026 cruise season, spanning up to 28 weeks. Housekeepers are pivotal in creating and maintaining a pristine, safe, and welcoming environment for all passengers. Working onboard the ship’s hotel, this role is essential in ensuring that all staterooms, public areas, and facilities meet the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort. Housekeepers are expected to engage positively with guests by recognizing them by name and addressing housekeeping-related requests in a timely and courteous manner consistent with the company’s service standards. Their duties include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, organizing linen and supplies, cleaning spills, disposing of trash, and properly caring for upholstered furniture and lounge areas. Beyond the usual housekeeping tasks, housekeepers also may participate in special events onboard such as greeting guests during embarkation, assisting with afternoon tea and snacks, and participating in evening cocktail parties, thus enhancing guest experience further.
The compensation for this position ranges from $1,000 to $1,400 per week, with additional bonuses. Remarkably, American Cruise Lines covers the major living expenses aboard its vessels, including room and board, uniforms, travel to and from the vessel, and paid training, providing an exceptional chance to save earnings during the contract period.
