The Housekeeping Aide’s fundamental responsibility is to perform routine cleaning tasks, adhering strictly to established cleaning protocols, safety guidelines, and infection control measures. This role requires a diligent individual capable of managing diverse cleaning duties such as sanitizing bathrooms, dusting furniture, vacuuming floors, and changing bed linens. They also handle waste management duties by emptying trash and recycling containers while following infection control and waste management protocols. The Housekeeping Aide will work closely with supervisors and maintenance staff by reporting maintenance issues and safety hazards, thereby contributing to the facility’s overall safety and upkeep. The individual selected will also support special cleaning projects such as floor waxing and upholstery cleaning under supervision. This role is physically demanding and requires stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift minor weights regularly, all while operating cleaning equipment safely and efficiently. A strong attention to detail is essential to ensure thoroughness in cleaning and to prevent the spread of infectious diseases through proper disinfection of high-touch surfaces. • Work performed in a medical setting due to the need to clean the facility
• Must be able to reach, talk, hear, crouch, stretch, and twist
• Stamina to stand and walk for extended periods while performing cleaning tasks throughout the facility
• Capability to lift and carry cleaning supplies, equipment, and trash bags weighing up to 15lbs as needed during housekeeping duties
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach to clean floors, surfaces, and low-lying areas in resident rooms and common areas
• Proficiency in performing tasks that require manual dexterity such as making beds, folding linens, and handling cleaning tools and equipment
• Knowledge of and adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries while using cleaning chemicals, equipment, and tools
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals, infections, waste, blood and body fluid, diseases, and conditions prevalent at the time
• Required vision includes close vision, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus
• Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the department supervisor or manager
