The role of Host/Hostess at Denny's is critical in creating a positive first impression and ensuring that guests have a pleasant and welcoming experience. Reporting to the General Manager and Restaurant Manager, the Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting and seating guests in a courteous and efficient manner, managing reservations and waiting lists, and assisting other service staff to enhance overall guest satisfaction. This position requires someone who is friendly, attentive, and professional, exhibiting Denny's guiding principles in all interactions. Hosts and Hostesses must be adept at handling multiple tasks such as managing special guest needs, promoting menu items, taking initial beverage orders, and handling payment transactions safely and accurately. They play a pivotal role in maintaining the restaurant environment by keeping the foyer clean and organized and ensuring that tables are properly rotated and prepared for guests. Beyond these responsibilities, Hosts/Hostesses assist with clearing and setting tables and supporting the service staff throughout the dining experience. This comprehensive role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand for long periods and lift items weighing up to 30 pounds. This position offers an hourly pay rate ranging from $16.50 to $17.00, varying by location and experience, and is a part of a dynamic team environment that values respect, diversity, and a proactive approach to hospitality.
