This multifaceted position offers the unique opportunity to be cross-trained in three distinct areas within the restaurant: the Host role, the To-Go role, and the Staff role. Each area is designed to contribute to a seamless and enjoyable experience for patrons while supporting the operational efficiency of the establishment.
In the Host role, responsibilities include greeting and seating guests promptly with a personal and energetic approach. Hosts are expected to accommodate various customer groups, including families with children, large parties, and business clientele. They manage the flow of the dining area to ensure that servers can maintain excellent service standards without becoming overwhelmed. Hosts must also be knowledgeable about the menu and current specials to answer guest questions effectively and may be tasked with merchandise sales.
The To-Go role centers on managing takeout orders via phone, delivery apps, online platforms, or walk-ins. The individual in this role ensures order accuracy, efficient order packaging, timely service, and handles payments. Like the Host role, being well-informed about menu offerings is essential to suggest items and provide accurate information to customers.
The Staff role focuses on maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the restaurant, including the parking lot, front of house, restrooms, and wait stations. This position is integral to shaping the guest's perception of the establishment and requires attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Staff members may also assist with bar stocking and food running duties.
