The Facility Maintenance Specialist I role at Duncan Aviation is a vital position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of the company’s facilities including hangars, shops, lunchrooms, restrooms, and company grounds. This full-time position offers the chance to work under moderate supervision while performing essential janitorial, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks that support smooth operational functions in compliance with Duncan Aviation’s approved procedures. As a Facility Maintenance Specialist I, you will be entrusted with cleaning and sanitizing workspaces and common areas using proper equipment and chemicals while adhering to safety standards. Regular responsibilities include scrubbing floors, emptying trash and recycling bins, making coffee, and ensuring proper handling and removal of non-hazardous materials and spills. You will also maintain various facility-related equipment such as scrubbers, spreaders, shop-vacs, and snow blowers, ensuring they function efficiently and are ready for use.
This role requires timely responses to facility-related requests and assistance during emergency facility situations outside standard business hours if needed. You will take charge of company grounds upkeep, including litter pickup, snow removal, and applying de-icers, often operating specialized snow removal equipment. Additionally, you will manage supply inventory for facility-related items, organizing and stocking supplies in lunchrooms, restrooms, and janitorial closets to guarantee that areas remain well-equipped and orderly.
The position demands physical stamina as it involves lifting up to 50 pounds routinely, occasionally up to 100 pounds, and performing repetitive motions. Candidates must be capable of working in various challenging environmental conditions such as extreme temperatures and noisy settings, with the ability to tolerate standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Duncan Aviation emphasizes safety and requires licensure for respirator fit, forklift, and scissor lift operation, along with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
