Upper Crust Food Service is a renowned catering service specializing in providing fresh, high-quality meals specifically tailored for Sororities and Fraternities across the United States. Known for its dedication to freshness, quality, variety, and exceptional customer service, the company focuses on solving a common issue in Greek life kitchens – lack of consistency and professionalism. Since its inception, Upper Crust Food Service has remained committed to its core values of delivering great food made from scratch while maintaining personal service that meets the needs of thousands of students nationwide. With chefs preparing tens of thousands of meals weekly, the company has established itself as a reliable and trusted food service provider in the hospitality industry. The role of the Head Chef at Upper Crust Food Service is a pivotal position that combines culinary expertise with leadership and management skills. Head Chefs are entrusted with the responsibility of creating, planning, and executing weekly menus that are fresh, from scratch, and designed with input from both the client chapters and the management team. The position emphasizes a work-life balance rarely found in the hospitality industry, featuring very few late nights and weekend hours. This role demands a passionate and classically trained culinary professional dedicated to crafting exceptional meals that not only satisfy the palate but also delight with presentation. The Head Chef ensures that all food preparation aligns with the company’s core values and cultural standards while upholding the highest sanitation and food safety practices. In addition to menu creation, Head Chefs oversee food preparation operations, manage kitchen staff through training and performance assessments, maintain supply inventories within budget constraints, and enforce food safety regulations according to state and local laws. Communication is a critical part of the role, requiring consistent interaction with both management and clients via calls, emails, and texts to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. The position also includes participation in special event planning as needed, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, and demonstrating a professional and positive attitude towards coworkers and customers alike. Upper Crust Food Service supports its culinary staff with competitive benefits that contribute to job satisfaction and overall well-being. The benefits package includes paid vacations, health, dental, vision, and pet insurance, as well as a 401K plan featuring company matching. The emphasis on a balanced work environment and comprehensive benefits highlights the company’s commitment to its employees’ professional growth and personal health. Upper Crust Food Service operates with an inclusive policy, providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, and other protected characteristics, ensuring a respectful and diverse workplace. If you have a passion for food, a strong culinary background, and the desire to make a meaningful impact in the Greek life community through your craft, this Head Chef position at Upper Crust Food Service offers a rewarding career opportunity. Join a team where your creativity in the kitchen and leadership abilities are valued, and your contributions regularly delight customers.
