This dynamic organization is dedicated to storytelling excellence, blending creativity with technology, and inviting talented individuals to be part of its innovative journey. The company's mission is not just about creating captivating stories involving wizards, dragons, superheroes, and natural wonders but also about fostering an environment where creativity, inclusivity, and career growth are prioritized. As a leader in the media and entertainment industry, Warner Bros. Discovery offers a vibrant workplace where employees are supported, celebrated, and empowered to thrive. The role of Pilot in Command at Warner Bros. Discovery is a critical position that emphasizes safety, security, and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Chief Pilot, the individual in this role holds ultimate authority and responsibility for the safe and efficient conduct of flight assignments. This includes making crucial decisions regarding flight departures, routes, and cancellations based on weather and other relevant conditions. The Pilot in Command must ensure total compliance with federal, local, and company policies and procedures throughout every flight. This role is entrusted with coordinating closely with the second in command to maintain thorough understanding and communication of all flight aspects. Responsibilities extend to managing aircraft discrepancies, ensuring that maintenance issues are promptly logged and addressed, and securing the aircraft post-flight. The pilot remains vigilant about crew readiness, ensuring all team members report fit for duty and properly attired. A comprehensive knowledge of all aircraft systems and emergency protocols is vital for this position, alongside filing flight plans and analyzing flight-related charts. The Pilot in Command also functions as the TSA Flight Security Coordinator under specific security provisions and leads passenger safety briefings or delegates them accordingly. An essential part of the role involves mentoring the second in command to prepare them for future command responsibilities. Safety is paramount; thus, the pilot actively participates in Warner Bros. Discovery's Safety Management System (SMS), promptly reporting hazards and incidents to senior safety authorities. While the role demands delegation skills, the responsibility for all duties remains firmly with the Pilot in Command. This position requires a highly experienced aviator with exceptional leadership qualities, a passion for operational excellence, and the flexibility to work varied schedules and travel worldwide extensively. Warner Bros. Discovery values integrity, discretion, clear communication, and a strong team-oriented approach, with a commitment to delivering a superior experience for passengers and colleagues alike. The company also champions inclusion and diversity, ensuring equal employment opportunities and fostering a respectful and supportive work environment. Warner Bros. Discovery offers competitive compensation for this role, with a salary range from $166,950 to $310,050 per year, complemented by bonuses, incentives, and comprehensive benefits including health insurance, wellness programs, retirement plans, and paid time off.
