The role we are seeking to fill is focused on receiving and merchandising within our store located at 155 Graceland Blvd, Columbus, OH. This position offers a competitive starting wage ranging from $14.00 to $14.50 per hour, with pay commensurate with the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. As a receiving and merchandising associate at TJ Maxx, your responsibilities will include ensuring that merchandise is processed accurately and promptly from the truck to the sales floor. You will play a pivotal role in creating a positive customer experience by maintaining organized backstock and sales areas and ensuring that all products are prepared according to store standards—including tagging, hanging, and coding. This position also involves mentoring and training other associates on key principles and practices related to merchandising and inventory processing.
Beyond operational duties, this role prioritizes excellent communication and teamwork. You will work closely with management and other team members to coordinate the flow of merchandise and ensure that tasks align with the store's priorities and goals. You will also be instrumental in supporting company initiatives such as shrink reduction, safety compliance, and promoting customer loyalty programs.
Candidates suitable for this role will have at least one year of retail experience and six months of leadership or supervisory experience. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability for nights and weekends, and the physical capability to lift heavy merchandise. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing situations are key qualities for success in this role.
