The General Merchandise Expert position at Target plays a vital role in ensuring the store runs smoothly and that guests receive excellent service. This role involves expertise in handling store processes related to general merchandise, including stocking, shelving, pricing, and maintaining the sales floor environment. The General Merchandise team manages inventory accuracy and product availability by leading various operational tasks such as receiving shipments, replenishing stock, and organizing merchandise displays to enhance the customer experience. An essential aspect of this position is supporting digital fulfillment activities, including picking, packing, and shipping orders, which aligns with Target’s growing emphasis on omnichannel retail.
At an hourly starting rate of $18.25 USD, this position offers meaningful employment with flexible scheduling options that may include nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business and guests. - High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior retail or customer service experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand and remain mobile for extended periods
- Capability to lift and move merchandise up to 44 pounds safely
- Ability to operate power equipment after certification
- Willingness to follow safety policies and work in compliance with all regulations
