This role is based on the vibrant island of St. Maarten and reports directly to the Vice President of St. Maarten operations. The Station Manager position is critically responsible for overseeing the business interests, financial performance, and daily operations of the station. The incumbent will lead a multi-disciplinary team and is entrusted with upholding the highest standards of operational performance, ensuring Menzies Aviation’s policies and procedures comply with industry regulations and company standards. Candidates must hold either a US Passport, US Resident Card, Dutch passport, or be a resident of St. Maarten to be eligible for this position.
The role demands a highly experienced leader with strong operational acumen, commercial insight, and financial stewardship capabilities, including profit and loss responsibility. The Station Manager ensures delivery of services within the regulatory framework and contract terms with airline customers while maintaining budgetary controls. This includes direct accountability for implementing safety and security protocols consistent with international aviation standards. The position requires effective collaboration and liaison with various airport and airline stakeholders as well as union representatives to promote a harmonious working environment.
The role involves comprehensive oversight of quality systems, emergency readiness through the implementation of the station’s Emergency Response Plan, and continuous process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness. Leadership and development of the management team are vital, as is contract negotiation with airlines and labor unions.
