As the General Manager at Towne Place Suites Metairie, you will play a crucial role in driving the hotel’s financial success through effective revenue management, cost controls, and superior guest satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include spearheading hotel sales efforts by building and maintaining relationships with key accounts, conducting client meetings, organizing special events such as luncheons and receptions, and regularly engaging with on-site contacts to foster strong partnerships. Additionally, you will lead and facilitate weekly staff meetings and training sessions developed by department managers to ensure ongoing employee growth and alignment with company standards. Developing future leaders within the hotel is a key component of this role, accomplished through continuous competency training and corporate-sponsored programs.
Operational duties also comprise regular inspections of hotel rooms alongside the Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and maintenance are met. You will oversee daily invoice processing using accounts payable controls and coordinate preventive maintenance programs to uphold the physical condition of the property. Financial acumen is essential as you will forecast monthly revenues and expenses and analyze data trends to generate accurate financial reforecasts.
The General Manager will manage all aspects of staffing by conducting interviews for management positions and ensuring fair and equitable treatment for all employees. Engaging directly with guests during peak times to offer assistance and enhance their experience is essential to maintaining the hotel’s reputation. Security procedures related to handling the hotel safe, including conducting monthly audits, must be strictly enforced.
Completion of corporate training modules and certification to train others is required, emphasizing a commitment to continuous professional development.
