The role also includes responsibilities for maintaining the in-stock area by inspecting returned merchandise, processing customer orders, verifying prices, and managing store supplies. Safety and security are critical components, so the associate will monitor cash drawer limits, watch for signs of theft or shoplifting, and ensure the cleanliness and organization of the store's front end and working areas. Associates operate various store equipment such as scanners, paging systems, and CCTV surveillance to maintain operational efficiency and security. Starting pay ranges from $17.00 to $18.40 per hour, depending on factors like location, experience, and education. This role is suitable for individuals with less than one year of computer knowledge but with some retail experience, particularly in cashier roles.
