The role of Janitor at CCS Facility Services is a pivotal position focused on maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation across various workspaces. It involves comprehensive cleaning duties including the upkeep of floors, carpets, windows, walls, and general building areas such as offices, hallways, lounges, and restrooms. Janitors are responsible for vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors; cleaning stains from furniture; dusting and maintaining various furnishings and fixtures; emptying trash cans and ashtrays; disinfecting commonly touched surfaces like desks, door handles, and phones; replenishing supplies in restrooms; washing windows and mirrors; and handling exterior elements like snow and trash on sidewalks when needed. This position demands strict adherence to safety and precaution rules, constant vigilance to report unsafe conditions, and effective communication with supervisors regarding maintenance issues or supply needs. The role also includes inventory management of cleaning supplies and maintaining detailed cleaning charts to document cleaned and inspected areas. Physical capacity is essential, as lifting up to 50 pounds and closing doors at the end of night shifts are part of the job requirements.
