The role of the Gourmet Food Chef at BGC is pivotal in elevating the food experience for customers. This position is responsible for planning and creating menus for catering services, preparing gourmet dishes with an emphasis on quality and presentation, and training deli personnel to enhance food preparation and customer service excellence. Working closely with upper management, the Gourmet Food Chef plays a strategic role in managing staffing, scheduling, and workflow assignments while supporting operational goals through data review and inventory management.
This culinary professional also indirectly impacts the profitability and reputation of the department by maintaining product quality, adhering to food safety standards, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The Gourmet Food Chef uses expertise in gourmet food preparation to plan dishes aligned with seasonal and promotional themes, optimize inventory and portion control, and enforce strict quality assessments based on sensory evaluation of aroma, flavor, taste, texture, and color.
