This position involves direct labor responsibility where the incumbent is expected to stage and prepare raw materials essential for production batches. The role requires maintaining cleanliness and order in the batch-making and packaging areas, coupled with proactive safety behavior to ensure a hazard-free work environment. Communication plays a key part in this role, particularly in informing supervisory staff about low raw material levels to prevent production delays. Employees in this role will develop a thorough understanding of the batch-making and packaging processes, optimizing production sequences to meet operational needs effectively. Maintaining strong working relationships with the Quality Control team is essential to uphold product quality and compliance with industry standards. The role demands logical thinking to structure the batch-making process effectively, including managing switchover sequences during production. Regular reporting of spills, equipment issues, safety hazards, and near-miss incidents to the Production Supervisor is a required responsibility to ensure workplace safety and continuous improvement. Operators are expected to competently handle packaging equipment and use scanners and basic computer operations for efficiency. During downtime, employees will be assigned to alternate lines for further training or operational duties, ensuring skill development and operational flexibility. Additionally, the role may involve assisting in hazardous waste handling under the guidance of certified staff, emphasizing the company's commitment to environmental safety and compliance.   • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 2-year prior related experience including 1 year as a production batch maker
  • must pass standard eye examination corrected or uncorrected and color-tone testing
  • must be capable of wearing company standard respirators as qualified by fit test
  • must be capable of lifting between 25-70 lbs
  • must consistently wear safety glasses, gloves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes
  • willing to wear additional PPE depending on chemicals or materials handled
