The Food Service Cook & Food Truck Driver role at Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County plays a vital part in the Workforce Readiness program aimed at preparing local youth for career pathways through hands-on experience and mentorship. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the position involves both food preparation and food truck operations, with responsibilities spanning from cooking and serving meals to driving and maintaining the food truck. This is a non-exempt position with up to 40 hours per week and an hourly wage of $18. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining high sanitation standards, proper food handling practices, and excellent customer service during events and daily meal services. The role requires a flexible individual capable of working in fast-paced environments, engaging with workforce teens as a mentor, and ensuring the security and cleanliness of kitchen facilities and the food truck. This position is based at 3361 S. Jenkins Road, Fort Pierce, FL, where the candidate will contribute to the Boys & Girls Club’s commitment to fostering youth development. In addition to a competitive wage, the organization offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and a 401k plan. Candidates must be willing to participate actively in trainings and organizational meetings, occasionally work special events during evenings or weekends, and comply with all regulatory standards such as HACCP and SERV Safe. The role involves physical activity such as lifting up to 50 pounds and requires a valid Class E driver’s license and a clean driving record for safe operation of a 35 ft. food truck.   • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Previous experience in driving, operating, cleaning, and executing orders on a food truck
  • Valid drivers’ license Class E
  • Clean driving record
  • Must submit to and pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Department of Children and Families
  • SERV Safe Manager Food Safety Certification required or must obtain SERV Safe Certification within the first three (3) months of employment
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and stand for long periods of time
