The role at TMH focuses on dietary functions essential to the daily meal service within the hospital setting. This position involves performing various general sanitation duties throughout the department, including the operation and cleaning of dish machines, floors, walls, and kitchen equipment. Responsibilities involve maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene to support food safety regulations strictly. Employees will handle tasks such as removing trash and recyclables from the kitchen, transporting food items via truck or cart, and delivering patient carts to different floors. The role demands meticulous care in storing stocks and food items and includes washing and securely storing pots, pans, and utensils.
In addition to routine cleaning and upkeep, this position includes some special cleaning assignments related to all surfaces, structures, and equipment in the kitchen. The role may also involve occasional work in positions similar to tray line or cafeteria server duties and includes some driving responsibilities related to transporting food items between TMH locations. Reporting directly to the Food Service Manager, the position is crucial in maintaining operational efficiency and supporting patient care through excellent dietary service.
