This position focuses on complementing the quality repairs by ensuring that customer vehicles are thoroughly cleaned both before and after repairs are performed. Additionally, the Porter is responsible for maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of both the shop and office facilities, ensuring that the workspace is organized, safe, and welcoming. This includes managing interior housekeeping tasks, handling vehicle transport for sublet repairs, and maintaining the surrounding grounds to reflect the company’s professional image. Porters at Gerber Collision & Glass must embody the WOW Operating Way by consistently executing daily cleaning and organizational tasks that support the overall customer experience. This includes emptying garbage cans, cleaning floors, dusting work areas, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and keeping tools and equipment properly stored. In addition to indoor responsibilities, maintaining the neatness of parking lots and walking paths, including snow removal when necessary, is an integral part of this position. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, and possess a valid driver’s license, reflecting the responsibility required for transporting customer vehicles safely. Automotive experience is preferred but not mandatory. The job demands physical capabilities such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and being able to perform tasks that require stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Excellent attention to detail, a positive attitude, trustworthiness, and a willingness to learn are essential qualities for success in this position.
