The Food Services - Cook I position at Children's Health is a vital role within the Food Services department, located in Plano. This on-site role operates primarily on a Monday through Friday schedule with shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including rotating weekends. The Cook I is responsible for preparing food for various service areas including room service, cafeteria, physician's dining, and catering. This role involves the chopping of vegetables, slicing of meats, and following recipes to ensure quality and consistency. The Cook I will assist the Cook II with VIP or special menu items as needed and is expected to follow directions attentively. This role requires maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the food preparation process, operating kitchen equipment properly, and ensuring that all food items meet standards of quality, freshness, taste, and appearance. Experience in food services is preferred but not mandatory, and the candidate must obtain a Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of hire.   • Less than 1 year previous experience in food services preferred
