This job opening is for the part-time position of an Analyst within the County, with an hourly pay range of $22.91 to $27.84. The role primarily focuses on supervising and participating in volume cooking and food service operations within institutional or commercial settings. The Analyst is responsible for overseeing the preparation, cooking, and serving of various foods, ranging from grilled and steamed to baked and roasted dishes. The candidate is expected to exercise supervisory skills by assigning tasks, training new staff, and ensuring food quality and safety standards are met. They will be involved in preparing menus by researching recipes and calculating ingredient proportions, which requires strong knowledge of culinary procedures and nutrition standards. The position also includes managing food preparation volumes accurately to minimize waste while maintaining high-quality service for patient trays or cafeteria clients.
The part-time role requires a blend of hands-on food service expertise along with administrative skills such as maintaining work area cleanliness, preparing reports, and handling records. The incumbent may occasionally fill in for higher-level assignments, acting as a relief supervisor when necessary. This role demands adherence to sanitation and safety regulations, application of supervisory techniques, and proficiency in basic arithmetic and computer operations. Given the nature of the work environment, physical requirements include frequent standing or walking, lifting up to 70 pounds occasionally, and managing routine tasks that involve repetitive motions and usage of both close-up vision and communication skills.
Ideal candidates will have experience in institutional or commercial food service settings, with specific qualifications outlined in three patterns of prior work experience. The applicant must possess a valid California driver's license, as mobility may be required.  - or four years as a Food Service Worker II in San Joaquin County service
 - or four years of increasing responsible experience which included one year of supervisory experience in a high volume institutional food service or commercial food service setting
 - possession of valid California driver's license
