As a Food Service Team Member at IKEA, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for ensuring the operational excellence of IKEA Food. This role involves preparing and maintaining food menu items in line with IKEA's strict food handling, health, and sustainability guidelines. You will engage directly with customers, responding to inquiries, helping them make informed decisions, and ensuring smooth and accurate sales transactions. Maintaining high standards for cleanliness and safety is a significant part of this role, including handling equipment maintenance, sanitary practices, and managing inventory and stock rotation according to the established principles such as First In, First Out (FIFO). Additionally, the position includes managing the Swedish Food Market within the store, overseeing merchandising, pricing, and the upkeep of sampling areas. You will be expected to communicate pricing accurately across various platforms and maintain the supply chain’s integrity. Adhering to workplace safety, hygiene, sanitation regulations, and promptly reporting concerns to management will ensure the environment remains safe and welcoming for all.   • 2-3 years of related experience preferably in the food service industry or restaurant setting
  • Food handler certification and/or food handler card as required by local jurisdiction within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to work in a high-volume customer facing environment
  • Knowledge of food handling, safety, and dishwashing procedures
  • Ability to manage merchandising, pricing, and inventory in a retail food setting
  • Willingness to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Comply with workplace safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Eligible to complete background check and drug test as conditions of employment
