This department plays a crucial role in patient care by ensuring that nutritional needs are met in a timely and courteous manner. The Food Services team is responsible for managing patient meal orders, delivering food trays, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within food preparation and delivery areas, thus contributing significantly to the overall patient experience and satisfaction. This position is an on-call role with working hours from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM. The primary responsibility of the role is to facilitate the spoken menu program, which involves meeting with patients to record their food choices for daily meals accurately. Additional duties include delivering and collecting food trays, overseeing tray line operations, and ensuring unit kitchens and assigned areas are well-stocked and clean. Furthermore, the role may involve delivering tube feeding formula and supplies, and assisting in kitchen or cafeteria tasks as assigned.
