The role of Overnight Front Desk Manager at Moody Gardens is a critical position responsible for overseeing the overnight shift operations at the hotel. The individual in this role ensures the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions, including auditing, posting, and balancing daily work. This position acts as the Manager on Duty during the overnight hours, bearing the authority to take reasonable actions within established company guidelines to maintain smooth operations and address any guest or staff issues that arise. The Overnight Front Desk Manager is also responsible for greeting and registering guests, addressing guest requests and challenges, managing communication with all department heads, and ensuring a high level of customer service throughout the shift.
This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can maintain accuracy in reconciling credit card systems with daily transaction records, balancing all hotel outlets, and processing check-outs effectively. The manager must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to provide constant feedback to hotel management and various departments to resolve service issues promptly. Additionally, the position involves promoting hotel services and amenities, upgrading guest accommodations when appropriate, and ensuring that guests are fully informed and comfortable during their stay.
The successful candidate will possess strong human relations skills to interact effectively with guests in person or by telephone while displaying maturity and a cooperative attitude. Reliability, responsibility, and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions are essential. The Overnight Front Desk Manager is expected to maintain open and collaborative communication with department heads to keep the status of in-house groups, functions, arrivals, and departures current. VIP guest needs and special requests also fall under this role’s purview, requiring careful attention and proactive service.
