The Food Production Worker II (Cook) position at Action Pathways is a full-time, non-exempt role based in Fayetteville, NC. This role offers a starting pay of $15.00 per hour and plays a crucial part in the organization's food service operations, primarily within the Head Start and Early Head Start programs. The Food Production Worker II leads in preparing salads, vegetables, sauces, and other food items under management direction and may assist with buyer/data entry, storeroom duties, and frozen meal production. The role requires a dependable individual with strong attention to detail, particularly in ensuring food safety, proper preparation, and sanitation of equipment and work areas. The Food Production Worker II is involved in all aspects of food preparation, including monitoring temperatures, scheduling, menu planning, recipe adherence, and quality control.
Key responsibilities include coordinating and assisting with the preparation and portioning of hot and cold foods according to menu specifications, requisitioning necessary food supplies daily, assembling menu items for meal distribution, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in the work environment. The position also supports production planning through forecasting and recipe standardization, receiving and stocking incoming goods, assisting in training other food production workers, and occasionally delivering food as required. Compliance with safety protocols, food handling regulations, and agency policies is mandatory, and the role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. The Food Production Worker II must maintain regular attendance and punctuality, demonstrate effective communication skills, and be physically capable of handling moderate lifting tasks.
