The Food & Beverage Manager position at ASM Global's Waco Convention Center is a salaried, exempt role under the supervision of the Director of Food and Beverage. This leadership position is tasked with overseeing all food and beverage operations during events, ensuring service is both consistent and aligned with the highest standards. The manager will be responsible for hiring, training, and supervising all food and beverage servers, cashiers, and bartenders, maintaining labor costs within budget goals, and ensuring compliance with health department regulations by maintaining a score of 90 or higher. Creativity will be essential in designing buffets and coffee break decor that impress clients and guests. The role demands a hands-on approach, with frequent interaction during events to ensure every aspect of service is executed flawlessly. Additional responsibilities include equipment maintenance, inventory control, payroll management, cash handling, and maintaining communication with various departments within the convention center. This position calls for an individual adept in multitasking, excellent communication, and strong organizational skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional food and beverage experiences that contribute to successful events and satisfied guests.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least four years of management experience in a banquet facility servicing large events
- Serve-safe certification
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain customer service standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage budgets and labor costs
- Ability to supervise and train staff
- Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability for minimal stooping and lifting
