This particular role is based at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado, a Level I Trauma Center renowned for its state-of-the-art medical facilities and expert care. St. Anthony Hospital is home to the Flight for Life Colorado ground ambulance program, which provides emergency patient transport with the highest standards of safety and professionalism. The hospital’s trauma program includes four trauma rooms and a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specialized teams, offering life-saving care to the most critically ill and injured patients. St. Anthony Hospital earned the prestigious Magnet designation in 2023, an honor awarded to only 10 percent of hospitals worldwide, reflecting excellence in nursing and patient care. The position involves the operation of the Flight For Life ground ambulance vehicles in a safe, professional, and efficient manner. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with scheduled vehicle maintenance, maintaining daily readiness and cleanliness of the ambulances, and providing patient care within the Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) program according to the EMT scope of practice. The individual will also provide clinical assistance to team members, the Emergency Departments, and business office personnel within the EMT role. Qualified candidates will have at least one year of experience as a licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), one year of experience driving ambulances or other emergency vehicles, and two years as a licensed driver. Familiarity with the local region is essential to facilitate timely and efficient emergency response. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with current Colorado State EMT certification, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, IV certification within two months of hire, completion of the Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC or CVEO) within six months of hire, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification within 12 months of hire.
