The role of a Military Internship Program participant at Northrop Grumman involves working onsite in Colorado Springs, CO, supporting satellite mission operations and system maintenance activities. The position requires the intern to engage in multiple facets of space operations including flight control, anomaly investigations, procedure development, and readiness activities. Interns will work a 40-hour week schedule, potentially including 12-hour or night shifts due to the 24/7 operational environment. The internship aims to provide transitioning service members with hands-on experience that prepares them for full-time employment within Northrop Grumman, contributing to a streamlined pipeline of highly skilled military candidates. This position requires a Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access, U.S. citizenship, and alignment with stringent DoD SkillBridge eligibility criteria. Responsibilities encompass monitoring vehicle subsystems, performing telemetry trending, managing space vehicle configuration, and supporting operations readiness and customer engagements. There are also expectations for effective communication and documentation, both written and verbal, to convey status reports and technical information to internal teams and external clients. Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range from $73,000 to $100,000 for this position, which reflects candidates' education, experience, and broader market factors. Compensation may include overtime, shift differentials, and performance bonuses along with a comprehensive benefits package. - Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience
