The coordinator is responsible for reviewing booth and floor plans for trade shows and events to ensure they meet fire safety standards, working closely with convention services, show management, business partners, and decorator companies. By inspecting exhibit halls, lobbies, and meeting rooms, the coordinator takes proactive corrective action on any identified hazards or violations.
The role requires issuing permits for hot work involving open flames or sparks, conducting pre- and post-conference meetings to communicate fire prevention strategies, and liaising with regulatory agencies such as OSHA and Clark County. Additionally, the coordinator supports the management of fire safety systems including alarms, extinguishers, and sprinkler systems, ensuring they are functional and compliant. A vital aspect of this position includes educating various stakeholders through training sessions focused on fire safety topics, hazard elimination, and risk management.
This role demands a candidate with a strong foundation in fire science or fire prevention, substantial practical experience, and proficiency in related codes and standards.                 - High school diploma or GED required
 - Minimum of five years of experience in fire science or fire prevention or equivalent related experience
 - Valid Nevada driver's license at time of appointment and maintained throughout employment
 - Ability to work in large public spaces and office settings
 - Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
 - Ability to bend, stoop, walk, run, stand, climb, and work from elevated locations
 - Ability to operate equipment such as valves and pumps
 - Ability to drive a motor vehicle
 - Must obtain ICC Fire Inspector I certification within one year of hire
