The company is currently seeking an Assistant Manager, Transportation Services, to join their Fairbanks team. This role is critical in managing the day-to-day operations of transportation services, supporting a sizable team, and maintaining high safety and operational standards. The Assistant Manager is expected to recruit, interview, and hire seasonal employees, supporting the CDL training program, which includes classroom instruction, administrative duties, and behind-the-wheel training sessions. This position requires meticulous scheduling, monitoring operations, and processing detailed reports related to passenger counts, safety, weather, traffic, and construction impacts. Maintaining strong vendor relations across the local community and travel routes is also a key responsibility. In addition to supervising the Transportation Services team, the Assistant Manager handles performance management, salary administration, discipline, and training of assigned personnel. The role requires an in-depth understanding of transportation regulations, laws, and company policies.
The Assistant Manager must also be prepared to operate motor coaches to transport passengers safely if needed. With a focus on maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service excellence, this position is pivotal to ensuring smooth transportation operations throughout the busy travel season.                 - Associate's degree or equivalent job experience in a related field
 - current valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards
 - commercial driver's license certification with passenger endorsement and airbrakes or willingness to obtain through company paid training
 - certified as physically qualified through Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen
 - experience supervising employees in a transportation, customer service, logistical, or business environment
 - strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
 - must pass pre-employment background report
 - legal authorization to work in the United States
