This particular position is for an Event Operations Planner based in Pearl City, Hawaii, supporting the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM). This is a full-time day job involving coordination and management of exercise training events central to military and defense operations in the Indo-Pacific region. The role requires approximately 10 percent travel. The planner will be responsible for producing and managing event support and facility documentation, coordinating and managing virtual collaboration sessions utilizing platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Adobe Connect, and Global Video Services, and maintaining and updating relevant data on SharePoint. The planner plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless and efficient execution of major defense exercises by collaborating with military, civilian, and contractor personnel to identify and track all technical, communication, and network requirements for events.
The scope of this position includes developing event support plans, maintaining Plans of Action and Milestones (POAM), creating slide decks, requirement charts, and workflow products, implementing event access and badging procedures, managing event floor plans, and delivering briefings such as the PWC Facility Brief. The planner is also instrumental in managing exercise and facility SharePoint sites, creating daily event agendas and schedules, processing travel documents as assigned, and playing a coordinating role in managing internal calendars. The planner will frequently communicate with senior USINDOPACOM leadership, Action Officers, planners, component command exercise planners, and workgroup leads, facilitating meetings and driving successful event outcomes.
Candidates must possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree coupled with five or more years of relevant experience, or a comparable amount of experience in lieu of degree. Experience with Microsoft Teams, video teleconferencing, Adobe Connect, and Microsoft SharePoint is essential. The role demands a highly detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving abilities. Security clearance requirements are stringent: candidates must hold an active Secret clearance and be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance, with U.S. citizenship mandatory. The target salary range for this role is between $80,001 and $120,000, reflective of experience and qualifications.
