Detroit, MI, USA, MI Full-Time $52,000 - $65,300
The Detroit Foundation Hotel is a unique and independent hotel that has been thoughtfully developed by transforming the historic Detroit Fire Department Headquarters into a distinct 100-room boutique establishment. Situated in the heart of Detroit, this hotel embodies the essence of the city's rich history and vibrant culture. Managed by Aparium Hotel Group, a brand celebrated for its innovative approach to hospitality and recently ranked among Travel + Leisure's Top 25 Hotel Brands in the World, the Detroit Foundation Hotel truly stands out by seamlessly blending business acumen with boutique charm. Apartments Hotel Group prides itself on fostering an environment where people, places, and character converge to create hospitality experiences that are meaningful and rooted in their local context. This approach ensures that guests not only enjoy exceptional service but also a genuine sense of connection to Detroit’s ongoing renaissance as a cultural, business, and artistic hub. As an Executive Meeting Manager at the Detroit Foundation Hotel, you will play a pivotal role in the hotel's sales and event management operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, the position is exempt and demands an experienced, self-starting individual dedicated to supporting the hotel's sales goals by soliciting, negotiating, and confirming both new and repeat business opportunities. Your responsibilities will span from lead follow-up and telemarketing to direct mail outreach, referrals, and internet prospecting, all aimed at maximizing revenues and surpassing your individual revenue goals. You will be entrusted with preparing and executing sales contracts, event orders, and group resumes with a meticulous focus on ensuring that every customer’s expectations are met or exceeded. In this role, you will coordinate function details with clients, covering aspects such as space requirements, meeting schedules, equipment needs, menus, and billing. Success in the role hinges on your ability to cultivate trusting relationships not only with clients but also with internal hotel teams, embodying the company's values of collaboration, humility, and professionalism. The role demands a balanced blend of sales intuition and operational coordination, ensuring seamless event delivery and high client satisfaction. You will also contribute to driving continuous improvements within the sales team, participating in hosting functions, conducting sales blitzes, and sometimes traveling or working extended hours to meet departmental targets. An ideal candidate thrives in environments where people and clients are the cornerstone of success. Strong communication skills, a passion for problem-solving, and teamwork are critical components of daily responsibilities. The hotel embraces a culture where egos are set aside in favor of collective achievements, with a shared goal of elevating guest experiences and meeting planner satisfaction. Emphasis is placed on educating event planners about hotel procedures, innovating menu and setup options in collaboration with culinary teams, and maintaining active engagement with top accounts. Your experience with audio/visual equipment as a profit center will be an asset, alongside your ability to effectively manage rooming lists, banquet event orders, and all facets of event execution. The Detroit Foundation Hotel, operated by Aparium Hotel Group, offers not just a workplace but a community where diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental. We celebrate individual uniqueness and encourage team members to take pride in their heritage and the local community. As a smoke-free and drug-free facility committed to equal opportunity employment, we are dedicated to fostering an environment where all employees feel valued and empowered to succeed.
