The role of Line Cook at Tahoe Mountain Club is an essential component of the club’s culinary team, playing a crucial part in crafting the delicious and meticulously prepared menu items that everyone comes to enjoy. This seasonal position offers an hourly wage range of $17.00 to $25.00, with shifts available across any time of day, accommodating the dynamic and varied needs of the club’s food and beverage operations. A Line Cook at the club is responsible for preparing and cooking all assigned menu items with precision and adherence to established recipes that reflect the club’s exceptional culinary standards. The position demands punctuality, a professional appearance, and excellent personal hygiene, alongside the ability to communicate effectively with both front-of-house and back-of-house team members to uphold a harmonious work environment. Safety and sanitation are paramount, requiring strict compliance with all related policies and proactive reporting of any hazards or maintenance issues.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate culinary proficiency, a keen attention to detail, and a passion for food preparation. The role includes operating essential cooking equipment such as grills, fryers, and ovens, preparing garnishes, stocking stations, and assisting with inventory management and supply ordering. Furthermore, the Line Cook supports menu planning and execution alongside the chef, helps train new kitchen staff, and maintains all cooking and prep areas in clean and sanitary conditions throughout their shift.
This position requires availability for night, weekend, and holiday shifts, reflecting the seasonal rhythms and demands of the club's operations. While the Line Cook reports primarily to the Lead Line Cook, Sous Chef, Executive Chef, and Food & Beverage Director, this role also occasionally reports to the Manager on Duty. Although there are no direct supervisory responsibilities, the position is integral to supporting the broader culinary team and assisting in ancillary kitchen areas as needed. - High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous line cook experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid California Food Handlers Card
- Successful completion of kitchen safety training
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Physical ability to stand, lift, and perform kitchen tasks for extended periods
