Responsible for leading and mentoring a talented team of 35 full-time and part-time culinary staff, the Executive Chef ensures that all culinary activities align with Oak View Group’s high standards of quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction. This position demands a combination of leadership, culinary expertise, and strong operational management skills. The Executive Chef oversees menu development, food production, cost control, sanitation, safety compliance, and labor management, ensuring that all aspects contribute to a positive, efficient, and profitable culinary environment.\n\nThe role also emphasizes employee relations, requiring the Executive Chef to cultivate a cooperative and compliant work atmosphere by providing coaching, training, and constructive feedback. This leadership position involves independent decision-making regarding staffing actions, such as hiring, promoting, and disciplining, to maintain a highly motivated and professional team. The Executive Chef must be available to work a variable event-driven schedule, including evenings and weekends, highlighting the demanding nature of live event hospitality. - Degree or equivalent experience in culinary arts or hospitality management
- 3-5 years of kitchen management experience in a full-service events venue
- current Food Handler's certification
- ability to obtain and maintain sanitation certification
- proficiency with computer software including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- proven track record of meeting food cost budgets
- strong leadership and communication skills
- ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- willingness to manage staffing and operations in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
- capacity to maintain professional presentation and interpersonal skills
- knowledge of employment and safety regulations
- ability to develop and mentor staff effectively
